EASTHAVEN MINISTRIES

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Children are an important part of the Easthaven family so we devote a lot of time and energy in this area:

  • We have a nursery available for babies and toddlers during all of our Sunday services.  During the 10:30AM and 6:00PM services we dismiss the rest of the children midway through the service.

    Two and three year-olds go to a program called "Preschool Praise" where they are actively engaged in play and craft activities.  Children from ages four to nine are released to children's church. This is an exciting vibrant time where the kids see Bible stories and application lessons acted out.  They also participate in their own time of singing their praises to God.

    *NOTE: These children's services are entirely optional. Parents are welcome to keep their children with them during the service if they choose.  We have available a supply of activity bags (with coloring pages and other fun activities) in a basket just outside the doors of the sanctuary.  We also have a room available in the rear of the sanctuary for parents of active kids and for nursing moms from which you can see and hear the service.

  • On Wednesday nights our children participate in the AWANA Club.  AWANA is an acronym for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  Elementary school aged kids participate in the Sparks and Truth & Training clubs where they memorize Bible verses during small group Book Time, hear a lesson geared to them in the larger group Council Time and have a ton of fun during Game Time in the gym.  Preschoolers have their place in the AWANA Puggles and Cubbies programs as well. (Registration form)

  • Other Activities: At various times throughout the year there are other events and activities for children ranging from a children's musical, to sports camps, to block parties in the park.  Information about events like these can be found in the weekly bulletin.

YOUTH MINISTRIES
4:12 Ministry is the Youth Ministry of Easthaven Baptist Church—it includes Middle School Ministry, grades 6-8 and High School Ministry, grades 9-12. Our weekly Wednesday night gatherings (6:15-8:00 pm) allow us to really focus on the Word of God. We spend time on topics that are important to teenagers and connect with God in worship and prayer. Sunday mornings are another opportunity for us to grow together and in Christ. We meet from 9:30-10:30 am. Classes are more topically driven. We also meet for special events, which are essential because they allow us to take what we learn and put it into action. Whether it be through service, outreach, missions or just a fun activity, special events put us in a place where we can be changed and used by God.

WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
The objective of women's ministries at Easthaven Baptist Church is to:

  • GATHER to provide God-focused opportunities for women to connect with one another.

  • GROW to facilitate mentoring relationships and women's small groups, in order to join women in healthy and encouraging relationships in which they can face life’s problems together. To fortify the faith of women by encouraging them to study God’s word and apply it to their lives. To help women discover their God-given spiritual gifts and talents.

  • GO to spur women to use their God-given spiritual gifts and talents to productively and effectively serve God, family, and the local and world-wide community.

  • Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) meets every 2nd and 4th Monday from 9:15 to 11:00 AM (during the school year) in room 410. Free childcare is provided. MOPS exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. You will find authentic community, mothering support, personal growth and spiritual hope, all to help be the best mom possible.

MEN'S MINISTRIES
The goal of Men’s Ministries is to reach men in the community who don't know Jesus or have not been involved in church for a long time, as well as ministering to men in our body.  We want men to feel comfortable and to realize that there are others just like them here at Easthaven.  Offerings for men include small groups with a manly emphasis, a yearly hunter's banquet, and a men's retreat at Middle Thompson lake.

SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY
A monthly potluck luncheon provides fellowship meetings for senior adults.  They meet on the first Friday of each month at 11:30 am. The luncheon includes guest speakers, special programs, and a potluck. They take a love offering to help advance youth missionary ministries in our church. Another aspect of the Senior Adult Ministry is an outreach to the various Assisted Living Homes in Kalispell. They bring the gospel to these residents by offering a weekly time of devotions, prayer, Bible reading and hymns. The residents really look forward to this time each week.

DEACON'S MINISTRY
We have a body of Deacons who are available to make hospital visits, home visits and new member visits as well as providing help to members and others in our community as required to further Easthaven's ministry in the Flathead Valley.  Contact information for all of the active deacons is listed on the back of the weekly bulletin.  The deacons are on a rotation and the current deacons on call are always designated in the bulletin as well.

ORPHAN CARE
The purpose of this ministry is to care for orphans and children in need, locally and around the world, and to engage the church by:

  • Comforting the distressed,
  • Adopting the parentless,
  • Reaching the lost children for Jesus Christ and
  • Educating children for a brighter future.
Specifically, we encourage our Easthaven family to:

  • Participate in the Uganda Child Sponsorship Program.  This Easthaven program gives us the opportunity to pay for a Ugandan child to go to school;
  • Join us as we provide respite care for a local monthly support group for adoptive and/or foster parents; pray for orphans;
  • Make quilts to send with mission teams that visit orphanages overseas;
  • Go on mission trips to minister to orphans;
  • Consider adopting a waiting child.

OTHER NON-MINISTRY GROUPS
You may be aware of other groups that meet at our facility (4-H, Girls Scouts, etc.) While these are not a part of our ministry, we do our best to make our facility available to groups that need a space to meet.
